Save and restore versions

Save the current scene and restore an earlier saved state when needed.

Before you start

  • Own the scene or have save permission.
  • Version history may require an eligible plan and permission.

Follow these steps

  1. In Edit mode, choose Save or press Ctrl+S.
  2. Wait for the saving state to finish.
  3. Open Version history from the editor toolbar.
  4. Review version numbers and save times.
  5. Find the earlier version you want.
  6. Choose Restore beside that version.
  7. Confirm the scene has returned to the expected state.
  8. Save again if you make additional changes.

Check that it worked

  • A new current version appears after saving or restoring.
  • Connected collaborators see the restored scene.
  • The previously current state remains available as history.

Useful tips and common mistakes

  • Save before large edits so the starting point is easy to identify.
  • Restoring is scene-wide, so coordinate with active collaborators first.
