Enter and leave VR

Start and end an immersive WebXR session from a compatible headset.

Before you start

  • Use a WebXR-compatible headset browser.
  • Open the site over HTTPS.
  • Make sure the headset is awake.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the scene in the headset browser.
  2. Wait for the scene to finish loading.
  3. Choose VR in the top scene controls.
  4. Confirm the browser's immersive-session request.
  5. Check that the scene appears in the headset and controllers are tracked.
  6. Use the headset's system or browser control to end the VR session.
  7. Choose Leave if you also want to exit the scene.

Check that it worked

  • The flat browser view changes to an immersive headset view.
  • Head movement controls the camera.
  • Ending VR returns to the normal browser view.

Useful tips and common mistakes

  • If VR does not appear, confirm WebXR support, HTTPS, and platform VR availability.
  • Clear the physical play area before starting.
