Add a basic object

Add a cube, sphere, cylinder, or building piece to a scene.

Before you start

  • Enter Edit mode with permission to add objects.

Follow these steps

  1. Choose Add or press A.
  2. Under Primitives, choose Cube, Sphere, or Cylinder, or choose Building piece.
  3. Find the new object in the scene and Hierarchy.
  4. Select it.
  5. Use Move to position it.
  6. Use Rotate and Scale as needed.
  7. Rename it in the inspector.
  8. Save the scene.

Check that it worked

  • The object appears in Hierarchy.
  • Its transform and name persist after saving.

Useful tips and common mistakes

  • Use primitives for quick blocking and testing.
  • Choose descriptive names such as Reception Desk instead of Cube 14.
