Duplicate, delete, and undo
Copy objects, remove them, and recover from accidental changes.
Before you start
- Enter Edit mode and select an object.
Follow these steps
- Choose Duplicate or press Ctrl+D.
- Move the new copy away from the original.
- Select an object you no longer need.
- Choose Delete or press Delete.
- Choose Undo or press Ctrl+Z to restore the deletion.
- Choose Redo or press Ctrl+Y to apply it again.
- Save after confirming the final result.

Check that it worked
- The duplicate appears as a separate object in Hierarchy.
- Undo restores the previous editor state.
- Redo reapplies the undone action.
Useful tips and common mistakes
- Move a duplicate immediately so overlapping copies do not look like one object.
- Undo history is for recent editing; Version history is for saved scene states.
